Keep Your Antivirus up-to-date

For the best protection, follow these three steps:

1. Make sure you have the most current version of your internet security software. Visit the manufacturers website to get the newest version.

2. Make sure your software is not expired and get regular updates. Daily if possible.

3. Scan your system frequently. We recommend once per week. Most software allows you to schedule this to happen automatically.

The biggest problem we service on a regular basis is virus infection. Most virus, spyware and mal-ware infections can be avoided by keeping your protection software up-to-date, and using it frequently. No system protection program is perfect, and new threats are constantly emerging. But these are our favorites, and they are all free!

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is an anti-malware application that can thoroughly remove even the most advanced malware. MalwarebytesIt includes a number of features, including a built in protection monitor that blocks malicious processes before they even start.

SpyBot Search & Destroy

Spybot LogoSpybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.
